Gravitas is the heavy spice of candlelight and old books, arcanum and meditation. The fresh resin scent of a newly constructed canoe on a Polynesian island discovered and forgotten by sun-loved, traveling men and women centuries ago. Gravitas deepens, and deepens with, thought.
The spicy hesperidic impression of coriander, nutmeg, and mandarin orange are the brilliant beauty to rivet your attention, the instant you notice the sunlight has turned to fire, raining down upon you. As clouds foolishly attempt to shroud this divine beauty from human eyes, an explosion of color erupts as the cardamom and black pepper bite, and bay laurel bursts through, showing its strength. Finally, those last velvety moments of daylight as it fades to black are the benzoin, coffee, and Peru Balsam dry sweetness, the depth and finality as the world is off to sleep, to dream of all that has passed, starlight and serenity.
Ingredients: Atlas Cedar, Balsam of Peru, Bay Laurel, Benzoin, Black Pepper, Cardamom, Coffee, Coriander, Jasmine, Mandarin Orange, Nutmeg, Sweet Orange
Sfumato Fragrances creates scents from trees, flowers, herbs, and spices.
The word "sfumato" comes from the Italian language and is derived from "fumo" (smoke, fume). The term also refers to a Renaissance painting technique aimed at softening the transitions between colors and tones (think Mona Lisa). However, Sfumato Fragrances are by no means "soft" when it comes to their lasting-power on skin, but rather in terms of the texture of their aromas, shunning the abrasiveness of harsh petrochemicals and even some of the more screeching naturals, in favor of more delicate and edible compositions. Husbandand wife team Kevin and Jane live and work in Detroit, drawing inspiration from the flavor profiles and ingredient blends learned in the culinary and craft beverage world to compose their positivelydeliciousaromas.
